If you are staying in Gümbet, the first practical question is almost always the same: where does the boat actually leave from? The answer is short. Departures are not from the large marina in Bodrum town but from Gümbet harbour. The boat leaves the pier at 10:30 in the morning and is back at the same spot at 17:00.
Where exactly is Gümbet harbour?
The pier sits at the end of the beach strip that curves around Gümbet bay, where the day boats are moored side by side. Spotting the line of boats is easy enough; picking the right one on a busy morning is the part visitors struggle with. Getting from your hotel to the pier
Reaching the Gümbet harbour boat trip is simpler than most people expect. There are four common ways:
- Staying in Gümbet, Bitez or Ortakent? The hotel transfer is included in the price, with a morning pick-up and no extra charge.
- Already in Gümbet, walking along the seafront is usually the easiest option; the short hop from the beach to the boat is described separately.
- From other parts of Bodrum, a dolmus (shared minibus) or a taxi down to Gümbet beach does the job.
- Driving yourself, plan parking ahead, because the seafront gets crowded in high season.
Where the route goes after the harbour
Four stops follow the departure: a first swim at Dalgıç Bay, lunch at Ada Boğazı around 13:00 where the DJ set also begins, then Aşıklar Bay, and a final snorkelling stop at Akvaryum Bay. Each stop lasts 30-40 minutes. Lunch (chicken, pasta, salad) is included in the ticket price; drinks are not included and are paid for separately at the on-board bar. Worth knowing before you head down to the harbour
The price is 1,500 TL per person; children aged 0-6 travel free and 6-12 pay half. Towels are not provided, so bring your own. On board there is a toilet, a shower and a changing cabin, along with life jackets, safety equipment and insurance. Pets are not allowed and smoking is permitted only in designated areas. Cancellations and refunds are possible up to three days before the tour date, and all payment methods including card and bank transfer are accepted.
Capacity is 100 guests and the music gets livelier after lunch, so this is not the right choice if you want a completely quiet day at sea.
