Price comes first, food comes second, and the food question is really three questions: is lunch included, what is on the plate, and where do you eat it? On a Gumbet boat trip with lunch the answer is short. The meal is covered by the ticket and it is served at anchor, in a bay, never while the boat is under way.
Where exactly is lunch served?
Lunch takes place at Ada Bogazi. Once the boat has dropped anchor, the tables are set and the hot food comes out at around 13:00, so nothing has to be balanced on a moving deck. Our stop-by-stop look at the four bays explains why this one works best as the meal break.
What is on the menu?
- Chicken as the main dish
- Pasta served alongside it
- Fresh seasonal salad
The menu is fixed and everyone gets the same plate. If you are vegetarian or have a food allergy, mention it when you book rather than on the morning of the trip.
Are drinks included?
No. Soft drinks, beer and cocktails are all sold separately at the bar on deck. Lunch is included, drinks are not, and that is the line people forget when they plan a budget. Departure is at 10:30, so have breakfast at your hotel; there is no breakfast service on board.
How does the meal fit into the day?
We leave Gumbet harbour at 10:30. The first swim stop is Dalgic Bay, where appetite tends to arrive with the sea. Lunch is then laid out at Ada Bogazi and the DJ set starts at the same time: quiet background music in the morning, a livelier tempo once the plates are cleared. There is a separate page about the music programme on deck. Asiklar Bay follows and Akvaryum Bay is the final stop, with 30 to 40 minutes at each anchorage. We are back at the same pier by 17:00.
Who will enjoy it, who will not?
Families and groups of friends who want a full day at sea without hunting for a restaurant get real value: 1,500 TL per person, free for ages 0-6, half price for 6-12, and hotel transfer from Gumbet, Bitez and Ortakent included. If you are hoping for an a la carte menu, a quiet table or a long, slow lunch, this is not the right boat, because the meal here is a shared and cheerful break between swims.
