Deciding when to book is rarely about one thing. Your dates, the size of your group and the week you happen to be in Bodrum all pull in different directions. Answer the questions below in order and you will see what early booking for a Bodrum boat trip really means in your case.
Are your dates already fixed?
If your flights and hotel nights are confirmed, waiting brings you nothing. The boat leaves Gumbet Harbour at 10:30 and carries up to 100 guests, so a full day is simply full. Even if your plans could still shift, booking early does not trap you: you can cancel up to three days before the tour date. How many of you are travelling?
The bigger the group, the more early booking pays off, because the goal is not just a seat but the same day for everyone:
- 1-2 people: a few days ahead is usually enough.
- 4-8 people: book about a week ahead if you want to sit together on deck.
- 10 or more: two weeks gives you a comfortable buffer. Children aged 0-6 travel free and 6-12 pay half, so state the ages early and the total becomes clear straight away.
Which week of the season is it?
July and August are when hotels around Gumbet run at their fullest, and leaving the decision to the last moment usually costs you flexibility rather than the trip itself. In May, June and September a few days of notice works comfortably. Weekends also fill faster than weekdays, so factor that in.
Do you need the hotel shuttle?
Transfer is included for hotels in Gumbet, Bitez and Ortakent, with nothing extra to pay. Your pick-up time depends on where your hotel sits and is confirmed together with your booking, which is why sharing the hotel name early makes everything smoother. Outside these three areas you make your own way to the pier and being there around 10:15 is enough. You can follow the shape of the day through the route and the order of the stops: Dalgic Bay, Ada Bogazi, Asiklar Bay, Akvaryum Bay, and back to the same pier at 17:00.
Before you confirm
The price is 1,500 TL per person with lunch included (chicken, pasta, salad); drinks are bought separately at the on-board bar, and you bring your own towel. If you are looking for a quiet day at sea, a trip where the DJ raises the tempo after lunch may not suit you.
