When you look for a tour in Bodrum you meet six different names for the same thing. Some genuinely describe different products; others are just marketing preference. This article separates the terms so that when you search for a Bodrum boat tour you know what you are actually looking for.
The terms and what they really mean
Daily boat trip
The most common and most neutral term. A full-day programme that leaves in the morning, returns in the evening, stops in bays and includes lunch. That is exactly what our programme is.
Boat tour / boat excursion
The same thing as "trip", just a more casual phrasing. Both return the same search results. There is no difference in content.
Blue cruise
Here there is a genuine difference. A blue cruise classically means a multi-day voyage on a gulet where you sleep on board for one or more nights. Calling a single-day programme a "blue cruise" is technically wrong. If you are not staying overnight on the boat, a blue cruise is not what you want.
Pirate boat
This is not a type of tour but a style of decoration. It describes tourist boats built to resemble a pirate ship, with masts, sail-like rigging and wooden detailing. The programme is still a standard day trip; only the look of the vessel differs.
Party boat
The music-led version of the day trip. Same bays, same hours, but with a DJ and dance animation on deck. The volume rises noticeably after lunch. Our tour belongs in this category.
Sea tour / bay tour
General umbrella terms. "Bay tour" emphasises the stops, "sea tour" the day at sea in general. Both are used to mean a day trip.
So which should you search for?
If you want a day at sea and a return to your hotel in the evening: daily boat trip or party boat. If you do not want music, avoid the word "party" in your search. If you want to sleep on board, what you want is a blue cruise — an entirely different product.
